I have always felt guilty about my heavy use of em-dashes– and ellipses…
But CopyBlogger says that dashes are okay!! Now, he doesn’t mention ellipses… but you’ll just have to put up with mine. I hadn’t heard/read the Mark Twain quote he notes at the bottom of his article. I don’t think I’ve ever been accused of fluff, flowers, or verbosity. What do you think?










Interesting article! I wonder if “correct” grammar is in its death-throes yet. Texting and blogging are changing the entire face of writing for all of us. I wonder what problems other languages are having with grammatical deterioration due to a lack of copy-editing…

I imagine other languages see the same type of issues. It’s hard to imagine that tomorrow’s teachers and educators will have grown up with texting (and who knows what’s next) as an integral part of their lives.
