I was up again early (5ish) on my last day in Torquay. Good thing, too. I got online to double-check catch up on email and did a quick post to this blog. It wasn’t until after I did that that I decided to check the UKSG twitter feed and noticed that someone had posted a report that the rail schedules were being disrupted yet again this Wednesday morning due to signal problems. Definitely not something you want to fool with, eh?
I discovered that the 10:10 train I’d planned to take no longer appeared on the train schedule, so I ate my egg on English muffin breakfast and had George call me a taxi. I caught the 9:11 train north . . . it was very slow going for the first hour after I switched to the Newton Abbot to Birmingham run. But I still made it to Stratford-upon-Avon by 4pm. Whew!
