D as in "database clean-up".

Yes, it began today. Years in the making. Detailed work. False start. FINALLY!

We got the word this morning that our bib records were going to be pulled. That's the first step in the process of sending them out for the clean up, which will involve removing obsolete fields & tags, fixing things that occurred in previous system migrations, and clean access points!  (This is exciting stuff!! If you're not a cataloger, you may not understand, but believe me, it's exciting!) Four to 6 weeks from now, the clean records will be re-loaded.

The original catalogers have worked tirelessly to ensure that our database clean-up will run smoothly. What a crew!
